Being a Grandma, I can do anything...
PSALM 127: 3 Children are God's heritage.
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Thank you God for letting me be a Grandma!

I'm thanking You... because you haven't given up on a wretch like me...
I want to thank You for what you have already done.
I am not going to wait until I see results or receive rewards; I am thanking you right now.
I am not going to wait until I feel better or things look better; I am thanking you right now.
I am not going to wait until people say they are sorry or until they stop talking about me; I am thanking you right now.
I am not going to wait until the pain in my body disappears; I am thanking you right now.
I am not going to wait until my financial situation improves; I am going to thank you right now.
I am not going to wait until the children are asleep and the house is quiet; I am going to thank you right now.
I am not going to wait until I get promoted at work or until I get the job; I am going to thank you right now.
I am not going to wait until I understand every experience in my life that has caused me pain or grief; I am thanking you right now.
I am not going to wait until the journey gets easier or the challenges are removed; I am thanking you right now.
I am thanking you because I am alive.
I am thanking you because I made it through the day's difficulties.
I am thanking you because I have walked around the obstacles.
I am thanking you because I have the ability and the opportunity to do more and do better.
I'm thanking you because FATHER, YOU haven't given up on me.
God is just so good, and he's good all the time.

Get a job by learning wetback English...
I wish I had taken this language course instead of Spanish... I may have found a better job...
No, seriously... I do have something to say about when I appled for a job while working for Los Angeles County Public Library System ... While in Library School, I specialized in Audio-Visual, hoping to be an A-V Librarian... After receiving my Master of Science in Library Science (MSLS) from the University of Southern California, I applied for an A-V Librarian position with LA County. I interviewed but was not selected for the position... now, here is the kicker... Because I had worked in the A-V department for over 5 years... I was asked to train the new AV Librarian... I refused and asked to be transferred to another Library within the County System. It was not long after that I was selected by the Army Library Program, and I began my professional career as the Reference Librarian at Leighton Barracks for the Wuerzburg Military Community... I have been an Army Librarian for over 32 years... and I love it. My husband has always said..."Your job is like a paid hobby."... MMM

Don't let the devil leave his bags...
but you are still resentful and angry,
You let the devil leave his bags
You got out of financial debt, but you still can't
control the desire to spend on frivolous things.
You let the devil leave his bags
You got out of a bad habit or addiction, but you still
long to try it just one more time
You let the devil leave his bags
You said, I forgive you, but you can't seem to forget
and have peace with that person
You let the devil leave his bags
You told your unequally yoked mate that it was over,
but you still continue to call.
You let the devil leave his bags
You got out of that horribly oppressive job, but you are
still trying to sabotage the company after you've left
You let the devil leave his bags
You cut off the affair with that married man/woman, but
you still lust after him/her.
You let the devil leave his bags
You broke off your relationship with that hurtful,
abusive person, but you are suspicious and distrusting of every
new person you meet.
You let the devil leave his bags
You decided to let go of the past hurts from growing up
in an unstable environment, yet you believe you are unworthy
of love from others and you refuse to get attached to anyone
You let the devil leave his bags
When you put the devil out, please make sure he takes his bags!
Get thee behind me, devil

Be Careful What You Vote For…
A joke that is making the email rounds… but it is something to think about…
While walking down the street one day a US Senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance."Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."
Now, I want to put in this little thought... I was taught it was not polite to talk about religion nor politics... So, I'm a very bad girl today... ah-mmmm!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...
http://www.wunderground.com/ I'm always visiting the site, looking for photos to put on my desk top.
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
I remember learning the pledge while in grade school... Julia B. Morrison Elementary School in Norwalk, California. My teachers were the following:
Kindergarten: Mrs. Johnson
1st Grade: Miss Arhens
2nd Grade: Mrs. Rucker
3rd Grade: Miss Minkler
4th Grade: Mrs. Munklebee
5th Grade: Mrs. Weiner
6th Grade: Mr. Gertz
I took piano lessons from Mrs. Vivian Petlock. I learned to play the clarinet from Mr. Ewing, the music teacher that came to my elementary school once a week. Wow - all these memories are from the 1950s... I wish I could remember things I need to remember now... now I have "senior moments"... MMM

Yes, I can see this happening... maybe in Baumental, Germany, a village just outside of Heidelberg that I lived in before I moved to Schweizingen... MMM

Oh Dear! I'm in trouble now...
“In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, but I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up.”
To make sure this doesn't happen again, the injustice to anyone anywhere must be the concern of everyone everywhere. Written in October 1945, Niemöller was a Protestant pastor, one of the pillars of moral resistance to the Nazis, who imprisoned him for four years in solitary confinement.
They (Al Qaeda) came for the Americans on September 11, 2001 and we did speak up!
Sometime in early September, 2003, prior going to work, I had sent the above email to the White House email address… showing my support for the War effort… and to my surprise, later that day, we rec’d a call from the White House… I’m thinking…OMG, I’m in trouble now… I’m a federal employee and I have ruffled someone’s feathers… am I going to lose my job? Egads.. when I finally spoke to the person on the line… it was a speech writer for Prez Bush, calling for some historical information about Fort Stewart and also about the time when Prez Kennedy came to Fort Stewart…he was working on the speech the Prez would deliver when he came to Fort Stewart September 12, 2003…the speech writer gave us his direct fax number and we were to fax him the information…. And we whole heartedly complied…My staff was a buzzing with enthusaism... and being library people, we never throw stuff away... may use it again... I can be a passionate person when it comes to patriotism and the military. Mainly because I have worked as an Army Librarian for over 30 years… and one supports the troops through thick and thin… Anyway, my story goes like this… Sometime in September 2003, President Bush came to Fort Stewart… here is a link to his speech…
http://www.crispexi.net/news/releases/2003/09/images/20030912-3_d091203-2-515h.html
More on this story…It was an awesome experience to be there and to see how the President arrived…My hubby and I said to each other… “We are making history with this once in a lifetime experience…” There were three helicopters that came from Hunter Army Airfield… and you dinna know which one the Prez was on…Snipers were everywhere… but you didn’t know it…My hubby Lou and I proudly wore our passes that allowed us to get on the field to see the Prez speak…
We had parked our car at the Post Library and were walking to the site… my hubby needed to make a pit stop at the Burger King… I waited outside… I was approached by a Hispanic looking man (could have been Middle Eastern for all I know…) with his right arm in a cast… now my mind was working on this… is his arm really injured? Or is he a terrorist… hiding some kind of gun/rifle in the cast… I read to many mysteries I guess… anyway, the man asked me what was going on? Was some VIP here at Fort Stewart… well, the hairs on my head really began to stand up… he wanted to know if he could just walk over… I tried to be as evasive as I could...not really giving him any information.. and I changed the subject… I didn’t want to spill the beans that the Prez was at Fort Stewart… then, for some reason, I asked him if he played baseball…I further said… I bet you can’t do any pitching until your arm is better… he kind of smiled and said yes… by that time, my hubby was back from his pit stop, and we quickly walked over to Trent field for the event … and showed our pass to get on the field.
That’s my story for this posting… MMM
